Joseph Joestar wasn’t expecting his Wild West adventures to lead him after a gang of bandits and the Army to rescue what was left of his family. He wasn’t expecting a bullet near the heart either; too near, the doctor had said, to safely take it out. No, he wasn’t expecting none of that.

He wasn’t expecting to find himself at Caesar Zeppeli’s side, either, still he was starting to tolerate Blondie’s presence.

PS: of course suits is for THE UNION SUIT. Yes, union suits are sexy, you can’t convince me otherwise

“It’s not unusual for travellers, friends or merchants to stop by the Speedwagon ranch, but the Pillar Gang is not here on a social call.

They’re looking for the old man, or rather, looking for something the old man is hiding. But someone got to him first: a handful of men wearing army uniforms forcibly took him into custody, no explanations given.

Kars and his group head towards the mountain pass, as the first lights of dawn light up the charred remains of the ranch. They barely pay any attention to the wounded young men left behind; just two cowpokes, ranch hands of no importance. But this where our story begins.”

From Yeehawgust day 7: Ride the Bull

Joseph Joestar and Caesar Zeppeli don’t see eye to eye, say the workers at Speedwagon Ranch.

They’re like cat and dog, says Smokey, tired of playing referee to their dumb challenges: who’s faster, who can brand more veals, who can catch more horse, who can piss further.

Boys will be boys, Speedwagon replies, sure that sooner or later they’ll stop acting like idiots, although his conviction wavers more and more each day. He’ll find out too late one of his bulls is the focus of the boys’ latest challenge.

From Yeehawgust day 6: Six Shooter.

“I believe this belongs to you, boy.”

Speedwagon was a man of his word, he had always kept his promises except for a single one. Before entrusting him with her ranch and sailing back to England, Erina Joestar had begged him to get rid of the gun that used to belong to her son and her husband before him. “It’s cursed; it killed them both, it won’t kill my grandson too,” she had told him, before boarding a ship in New York back to the humid island that she believed would keep what was left of her family safe. Speedwagon had promised and he had kept all of his promises except for that single one.

He didn’t believe that gun was cursed, didn’t believe the Joestar were cursed either, but even if it was, even if they were, Joseph deserved the chance to create his own fate.

The old six shooter was rightfully his. As he handed it to him, Speedwagon prayed Erina would find it in her to forgive him.

Very late yeehawgust day5: ropeburn

People tell a lot of stories on the infamous Pillar Gang and their leader Kars: one is that he’s so evil that hell itself spat him back out, the second is that he won’t hesitate to send you down there, the third is that he only shows up after sundown, the other stories… not many people can stomach.

After all, men like Kars only have two ways to survive: becoming preachers or turning into outlaws. He found his calling.

It appears that he and lieutenants, Esidisi and Wham, are looking for an inestimable treasure required by the army, a lot more than a fistful of dollars, and Speedwagon’s ranch is on his way.
