I’m actually so happy I managed to get out of this fandom after seeing The Force Awakens (and subsequently slipping into that fandom black hole) because I realized how toxic and clique-ish everybody in the MMFR fandom was slowly becoming, and in comparison to how everybody was at the start it’s gotten really fucked up in here. I enjoyed my time here and made so many friends but I think it’s safe to say I’ve died historic on the Fury Road.
I must have found all the right peeps because I’m still riding shiny and very happily chrome in the MMFR fandom. :)

Whenever I see posts about how toxic and terrible the MMFR fandom is I’m always confused because I have never once experienced all the negativity that people describe. Maybe I just never ran into it or followed people who never spread that kind of stuff? But even when I’ve hit rocky patches of discord in the fandom it was always discussed and and circulated with obvious respect for other people’s opinions. So arguments were always logical and made with points of reason and it was more debate than actual war between parties so it never felt extremely juvenile because the Mad Max fandom is really good about not seeing things in black and white. I dunno. I guess I just managed to avoid stuff. Sometimes I want to ask people to point to me where this awful stuff occurred that I completely missed. (long post more under the cut)
