I really, really love my cats. And I’m really, really glad that Siren is home safe and sound. So I decided to make a massive photo post of all my favorite pictures of her along with the story of how I got her :D

First photo I took of Siren. Her story - on Nov 18th 2011 a friend and I were driving home when we saw movement in a snowbank. We were in the middle of a cold snap, it had hit -35 with the windchill. We discovered that it was a tiny black kitten with her even smaller sibling (Siren). We searched everywhere for signs of a nest or den, or a mother cat or other kittens but to no avail. They were obviously born feral as they were terrified of us - the black female was spitting and hissing despite the fact that they were both near death from the cold. We had to put gloves on to handle them. Once we got them inside the vehicle we blasted the heat and I put Siren under my shirt against my bare skin and rubbed the life back into her. Soon she was purring. It took only 3 days for her to warm to me, and on the 3rd night I woke up to her curled up under my chin. She continues to sleep with me like that <3

After getting spayed.

She is most comfortable, thank you for asking.

Now let me tell you a story about why you should NOT LET YOUR CATS ROAM FREE OUTSIDE. I used to let Siren go outside during the day. One day, she came from around dinner time acting very strangely. She wouldn’t let me near her which was very unusual. So I finally got a hold of her and found a teeny tiny, clean puncture wound on her back. It didn’t look serious at all, so I cleaned it thoroughly. But a few hours later she was pacing and yowling in pain, so we rushed her to the vet. Turns out it was an animal bite and a severe infection had already started. She had to spend two nights in intensive care with a life threatening fever. Moral of the story - keep your cats indoors. There are too many dangers outside for them.

After surgery. This was within ONE DAY. That is how fast the bacteria from the animal bite spread.

My sucky girl <3

Siren loved my rats and was gentle with them :)

She adores all the dogs too.

Someone’s confused.
