I was super into thinking of the world building aspect like. Joe has a highly rare and powerful water pokemon in the middle of the wasteland, while his prized wives are given small, relatively harmless pokemon to be their companions. The war boys get prehensile pokemon to help fight and/or make repairs, but only the really good war boys actually can receive a pokemon to care for. The Keeper of the Seeds has one of the last grass pokemon, but her Tropius doesnt fruit anymore. Furiosa gets an intimidating flying pokemon that only evolves with friendship, and Max has a dog. Also all the pokemon under Joe’s empire have tags and/or brands on them.
